1. The agreement

These terms govern your use of Wayli — the website at wayli.ai, the web app at app.wayli.ai, the Wayli mobile app, and the walks and audio inside them. By creating an account or using Wayli you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use Wayli.

How we handle personal data is described in our privacy policy, which forms part of this agreement.

2. Your account

  • You need to be at least 16 years old to have a Wayli account.
  • Give us an email address you actually use — it is how we reach you about your account.
  • Your account is yours alone. Keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has them.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account.

3. What you may do with Wayli

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Wayli and to listen to its chapters for your own, non-commercial enjoyment — on your walks, on your devices, including offline when you have downloaded a walk in advance. That licence lasts as long as you keep to these terms.

4. Chapters and walks

A chapter is a story about a place: researched, written and checked by people, then narrated. A tour is your walk — chapters assembled into a route around your interests, your pace, the time you have and where you are starting from. Two people standing on the same corner can get different walks, and that is the point.

We work hard on accuracy, but places change, opening hours move, streets close and history is argued about. Chapters are offered for interest and enjoyment. They are not professional, historical, legal, medical or travel advice, and we do not promise that every detail is complete or current. Spotted something wrong? Send feedback from the app — corrections are the fastest thing we ship.

5. Walking safely

Wayli talks to you while you are outdoors and moving. Your safety is yours to manage — keep your eyes up, watch traffic and other people, and stop somewhere safe before you fiddle with your phone.

  • Routes are suggestions, not a certified navigation service, and are not checked for accessibility, road works or hazards.
  • Obey local laws, traffic rules, private property and any site's own rules — including where headphones are a bad idea.
  • Keep the volume low enough to hear what is around you.
  • Do not use Wayli while driving or cycling.
  • Judge the conditions yourself: weather, daylight, the neighbourhood and your own fitness.

6. Acceptable use

Please do not:

  • copy, download in bulk, scrape, republish, resell or publicly perform Wayli's chapters, audio or maps;
  • use Wayli for a commercial tour operation without a written agreement with us;
  • reverse engineer the apps, or hammer our API with automated requests;
  • break into accounts, probe our security, or interfere with the service for others;
  • upload or send anything unlawful, hateful, or infringing through feedback or any other channel;
  • use Wayli in a way that breaks the law where you are walking.

7. Who owns what

Wayli and everything in it — the chapters, the narration, the software, the design and the name — belong to us or to our licensors, and are protected by copyright and other rights. These terms give you a licence to listen, not ownership of anything.

Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, used under the Open Database Licence. Some imagery comes from openly licensed sources and carries its own attribution.

Feedback you send us stays your own words, but you give us a free, worldwide licence to use it to fix and improve Wayli, without owing you anything for it.

8. Early access

Wayli is in early access. Cities and chapters are still being added, features may change or disappear, and the service can be interrupted for maintenance without notice. We may limit how much of the service any one account uses so it stays up for everybody.

9. Paid features

Wayli is free while it is in early access. If we introduce paid plans we will show the price, what is included and the renewal and refund rules before you pay anything, and purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are also governed by that store's own terms.

10. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Wayli at any time and ask us to delete your account — see deleting your account. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law, or that puts the service or other walkers at risk; where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why first. The sections on ownership, warranties, liability and governing law survive the end of this agreement.

11. Warranties

Wayli is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we do not promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that every chapter will be accurate. Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

12. Liability

To the extent the law allows, Wayli is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, for lost data or profits, or for anything that happens to you or your property while you are out walking. Our total liability for any claim connected to Wayli is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars.

We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the competent courts of Tel Aviv-Yafo have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If you use Wayli as a consumer elsewhere, you keep the protections and the right to bring a claim in the courts of your home country where local law gives you that right.

14. Changes to these terms

We update these terms as Wayli grows. The date at the top of the page always shows the current version, and we will give notice in the app or by email before a material change takes effect. Continuing to use Wayli after that means you accept the new terms.

15. Contact
